Week 7: Search Intent Results

 Search Intent Results:

I've recently been searching for a new vehicle, and I thought that this would be a perfect example to display how search intent works.

Currently I own a midsize SUV and I'm looking to replace it with something similar in size, just newer models. During this search process I now see that I have completed all types of different search intents.

I began with a simple informational search to look for SUV's similar in size to my current vehicle. With this search I was able to find a list of all sorts of makes and models for SUV's similar in size to my current vehicle.

Navigational search is another search intent I have used during my research for a new vehicle. I know the makes of vehicles I'm looking to purchase, so I searched through google for "Jeep" "BMW" and "Genesis" to name a few. I know I could have searched each of the direct websites for all these makes, but it is easier to just type the name of the make I'm looking for and have the search engine generate the direct website for me.

Transactional search is one that I wasn't too sure if I had done during my buying process, but after thinking about it, I have done a transactional search. A transactional search would have been when I searched for dealerships that would lead me to obtain a trade in value for my current vehicle. Once a trade in value is determined from a dealership, I will be most likely to purchase a vehicle from that dealership if I am able to get a good deal.

Lastly, a commercial investigation was also completed during this time. I've been researching the differences between makes and models to determine which vehicle would be the best trade. I'm looking mostly into maintenance cost, fuel efficiency, and reliability.
