What is a Buyer Persona?
A buyer persona is defined as a fictionalized character of your best customer based on information about them and how your product or service can help solve their needs.
What are the main steps to creating your buyer persona?
- Investigate
- An investigate needs to be completed based on real data from real people.
- Research from real people ideally should include three different groups
- Current customers
- Potential leads
- Professionals from network
- Interview
- Ask questions like:
- Who?
- Questions centered in defining the personal qualities of the buyer persona, like:
- Education
- Work experience
- Age
- What?
- What goals do they have?
- What challenges are they facing?
- Why?
- Why they look to your brand for a possible solution to their problem?
- How?
- How does your product or service solve your buyer persona's problems?
- Visualize
- After investigating and interviewing real people, consolidate all the information collected to visualize an ideal buyer persona
What is the purpose of a buyer persona?
The purpose of a buyer persona is to anticipate future customer needs, which is done by understanding who they are, to find a solution to their needs.
